Engitec Technologies S.p.A.
Engitec Technologies is an Italian private join stock company, world leader in its reference sector that designs and manufactures plants for the recovery and recycling of used batteries, slag and scraps from metallurgy processing of non-ferrous metals.
The technological know-how of Engitec covers various sectors of metallurgy. For example, the technology known as “CX System” for the recovery of lead/acid batteries is classified “Best Available Technique” by international organizations (as reported in the IPPC and Basel Convention documents) for the level of automation, for the reliability of the system, for the quality of the products obtained and especially for compliance with the environmental regulations required in the most diverse areas of the world.
With the aim of broadening the commercial and technical horizons of technologies for melting and casting of non-ferrous metals, in 2022 Engitec incorporated GMS, as “Product Line GMS”, which, as Operators of this industry know, has its technological roots in the know-how developed by Calamari S.p.A. since the 40s.
“Product Line GMS” operate in the design and manufacturing of induction furnaces for the melting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as in continuous and semi-continuous casting plants for the production of billets, slabs, tubes, and strips of copper and copper alloys.
The global service – supply of machinery, technical assistance and spare parts – offered by “Product Line GMS”, has allowed to gain the trust of the markets, both in Italy and abroad, with a portfolio of over 450 plants and machinery in operation with full Customer satisfaction, proven by numerous repetitions of orders.
Other particular technologies in the Engitec portfolio concern the recovery of salt from secondary aluminum foundry slag and for the recovery of zinc and other metallic values contained in steelworks fumes.
Engitec has its own research center equipped with a laboratory and area for pilot plants, through which it has developed innovative technologies for the recovery of lead, copper and zinc both from primary resources such as mineral concentrates and from secondary resources, such as scrap, slag and exhaust smokes.
