IDRA: JOHN STOKES IS THE NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Effective March 1st, Idra Group undergoes a significant change in leadership as John Stokes is appointed as the new General Manager, succeeding the retiring Riccardo Ferrario. This transition signifies a seamless shift within the company’s leadership, emphasizing continuity and stability.
The Idra board of directors expressed confidence in Stokes, stating, As the new GM, he is poised to lead Idra Group into a new era of brand growth, further solidifying our position as a market trendsetter for the die casting industry.
With a background as a Mechanical and Production Engineer, Stokes has been an integral part of Idra since 1995. During his tenure, he has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at advancing aluminum and magnesium in the automotive sector, both domestically and internationally. Notably, Stokes co-developed the groundbreaking GigaPress machine in 2016, revolutionizing automotive manufacturing by enabling the production of lightweight, environmentally friendly vehicles.
Beyond his technical expertise, Stokes has played a pivotal role in sales and marketing, establishing strong relationships with customers and positioning Idra as a leader in the die casting arena. His leadership extends to The Foundry Star Alliance (FSA), where he
contributes to driving innovation and growth in the automotive body structure sector.
Expressing gratitude for his new role, Stokes outlined his vision for Idra Group’s future, emphasizing a commitment to innovation, evolution, and success. He stated, “I am truly honored to accept this appointment and embrace the opportunity to guide the Idra brand
into a promising future on the global stage.”
Looking ahead, Stokes emphasized Idra’s dedication to serving the entire spectrum of the die casting industry, from small to medium machines, while also strengthening the global presence of the brand and fostering growth in markets that demand innovation and
technological excellence.
